Hello all! I'm back again! I'll keep this fairly short as some of you will have just read War and Peace (that's what Hannah's calling her last blog post xD) but here's some bits and pieces from me...
So...Happy New Year! Yeah okay, it's a bit late really. Hannah and I have both been really busy for most of this month because we had the panto at work, which is our busiest time of year, but now it's over (boohoo!) WE'RE BACK, and with more time on our hands to get the training back into full swing. Hopefully we won't get too much snow... Anyway, some updates from while we've been away: Firstly, my broken email issues seem to have magically fixed themselves at last (HURRAH!), so if you've tried to contact us and had no reply, pleeease please please do try again! I've responded to everything that's arrived, so if you didn't hear back, now's the time to give me a nudge :) Secondly, and far more excitingly, the Coffeehouse fundraiser is getting very very close now, so if you'd like to come and haven't booked your place yet, get a wiggle on - details on our events tab up there on the menu bar ^^ :) Thirdly, we've hit £150 sponsorship! Thank you to everyone who's sponsored us so far, we love you all! If you haven't yet, please do consider doing so - we'll post some pics of us looking incredibly cold on training walks to make you feel bad, otherwise ;) - or even just spreading the word would be wonderful. Let's raise enough to build somewhere really brilliant and life changing for those children! Finally, we've got a really exciting new addition to our wristband gallery - West End star Lee Mead! Told you we'd get some celebs :P He very kindly helped us spread the word to his fans during his run as Prince Charming in our panto, and we're really grateful, both to him and to those who donated after he tweeted his picture! Thank you! And for anyone interested in the Marc connection... So that's it from me for now, watch this space for some training updates soon, and hopefully we'll see some of you on February 8th!
KALMIYH, Claire x Hi everyone! Long time no see...our fault entirely :P We've all been badgering away behind the scenes, but we have a bit of news now so here we are again!
Firstly, WRISTBANDS! Thank you all so much for your enthusiasm about these - they've been so popular we've had to order some more from the supplier! So keep ordering, and remember to take a photo of yourself wearing yours so we can put it in the #KALMOYA gallery. And if you've contacted us but haven't heard anything yet, a) I AM SO SORRY, b) give me a little nudge to remind me - I've had a bit of computer trouble recently so have a very bad feeling I've probably missed one or two I should've replied to by now. I'm not ignoring anyone on purpose, promise! We have a couple of events coming up - I've just updated our events page with the details, but to summarise PLEASE COME TO THE MARC BOLAN COFFEEHOUSE in London on February 8th, it would be awesome to see your lovely faces there (and we'll be selling wristbands there, if you want a fun way to avoid the p&p charge :P), and while you're looking forward to that, why not stick a tinsel boa on your cat and enter it in the T.Rexmas Fancy Pet Contest...£3 entry fee will go to the School and hey, you might win a Pets at Home voucher! Finally, and rather excitingly, we've just hit £400 from our wristband sales, which is fantastic! Thanks all for your support, and HAPPY ADVENT! Hope all your preparations for a super funk Christmas are going really well :) Claire x Hi everyone! A happy blog entry from me today to let you know a couple of things we've been sorting out this weekend... Firstly, WE HAVE A SPONSORSHIP PAGE NOW! So many of you have been incredibly kind already and bought wristbands (we're going to have to get some more made soon if you carry on like this!) but now we're finally able to ask you to donate. 211 miles is a long way and will be a really painful challenge for us, but we're doing it because we really believe in this school. Please help us get it built! Secondly, we've all been following the news on the Ebola crisis and feel desperate to help. The School is now needed more than ever to help the children of Makeni build a stronger future and bring some positivity into their community after so much more suffering, but the priority right now is to keep them safe. With that in mind, and with Gloria's blessing, we've decided to join up with the Red Cross to help fund their Ebola Outbreak Appeal. We'll let you know when we've sorted out the details :) For now, get sponsoring us, keep buying wristbands, and know that you're doing something wonderful for the kids in Sierra Leone. Thank you!! <3
Hi Boleys!
A quick one from me to say thank you so much for all the support already! We started selling our wristbands just a couple of days ago and already you've raised over £150 for the School, which is amazing. We've been completely overwhelmed that so many of you seem to like the idea, and we hope you enjoy wearing your bands with pride! On that note... #KALMOYA! Don't forget to send us photos of you Keeping a Little Marc on Your Arm! Put your wristband pics up on facebook, twitter, anywhere you like... Our gallery is a little thank you to you all for contributing to the School, but let's get this out on social media as much as we can too - hopefully people will see your photos, think you look super cosmic (and of course you will!), and want one of their own so they can look as cool as you do. I really want to give prizes for the most inventive/amusing/otherwise awesome photos, or maybe to anyone who can get a pic of someone famous wearing one, but we don't really have any prizes at the moment... We'll have to see. Worth doing just in case though, eh? ;) KALMIYH, Claire x |
